Charge/Function:
The Library Advisory Committee advises the Director of the Health Sciences
Library, the Associate Senior Vice President, and the President on all library related issues from
the perspective of faculty, staff and students from various constituencies
throughout the University, including the four colleges, the research enterprise,
and the hospital, other clinical and patient care activities, and the public.
The Committee is charged to:

Consider the current and future needs of various constituent
groups for Library services as may be referred to them by colleagues and/or
the Director of the Library;

Serve as an informed liaison between the Library and various
constituent groups that require information and services from the Library;
and
-
Review functions, priorities and operating policies of the
Library, and participate in planning activities by the Library.
In addition, the Committee shall serve certain administrative functions for
the Library:

Act as Faculty Appointment and Promotion Committee for Library
faculty;

Assess on an annual basis the Library’s performance
and recommend actions to the Director and the Associate Senior Vice President and
- Evaluate and approve expenditures from the Syracuse Medical Alumni Library
Endowment Fund.
