Clinical Skills Assessment

Third-year student with standardized patientThe Office of Clinical Skills Assessment coordinates all aspects of the Standardized Patient Program

Standardized Patients are used to instruct and evaluate the medical students and residents in clinical skills.

Current education programs using Standardized Patients include:

  • Practice of Medicine
  • Bioethics Program
  • Primary Care Program
  • Surgery
  • Psychiatry

Students are given an Observed Structured Clinical Evaluation (OSCE) at the end of the third year.
