"Conduct research and advocate for improved health care
access and services for people with disabilities."

"I see the MPH not as a change of career, but an extension of my current experience. After 15 years as a physical therapist, including 1½ years working with individuals with disabilities, I now hope to impact communities. I also am interested in trying to improve the treatment of individuals by studying the health care system and working to change policy.

"In the CNYMPH program there is an exciting mix of professionals, which keeps the classroom conversations at a very practical level, full of interesting insights and examples. Everyone shares an interest in learning, and everyone's viewpoint is valued. I'm glad I have experience in health care because it gives me real-world perspective in the classroom.

"Many of the courses are in the evening, so the course times are compatible with my work and family life. I've also been impressed with the caliber of lecturers in my classes; the collaboration between Upstate and SU brings a rich level of experience to the faculty."
