"Direct a not-for-profit health clinic in Syracuse."
"The diversity of professional backgrounds makes our program very special. We have doctors, nurses, health care administrators, research scientists, nutritionists, information technologists and a host of others. This has added an insider perspective on most of the topics we've covered. It also fosters an environment in which we can learn from each other as well as the professors. The CNYMPH staff and the University have a strong connection with the community.
"I hope to do my field placement in a clinical setting in a third-world country. Most of my medical experience thus far has come out of a yearly mission I attend in a poor area of Guatemala. I've also worked with American high school students in Costa Rica, helping with various service projects.
"From a public health standpoint, I am interested in the way health care is established in poor countries when no system is in place. Working in the third world would allow me to not only serve those most in need, but learn effective ways to do so with limited resources."
