The Center for Maternal and Child Health focuses on four main programs. The CMATCH staff is a team of professionals working together in a collaborative effort to foster the growth and continual improvement of maternal and child health. Central New York Regional Perinatal Program

The Central New York Regional Perinatal Program (CNY-RPP) aims to promote healthy outcomes for women and children by ensuring that high risk mothers and their infants have timely access to a continuum of specialized care they need.

The Central New York Regional Perinatal Program worked very closely with the New York State Department of Health in the development and implementation of the Statewide Perinatal Data System (SPDS) as well as its prototype, the Regional Perinatal Data System (RPDS).

Syracuse Healthy Start

The Onondaga County Health Department, in collaboration with 20 other health and community-based agencies, initiated the Syracuse Healthy Start project in 1997. The overall goals of the first round of projects were to decrease infant mortality and adolescent pregnancy in Central Syracuse.

In a course believed to be the first of its kind in the nation, medical students at Upstate Medical University are spending 18-months at the side of expectant mom-from mid-pregnancy through birth and the baby's first year of life.

Bereavement Services (formerly Resolve Through Sharing) is a program designed to support parents and families who have experienced the loss of a baby. Whether due to an ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, therapeautic termination, stillbirth or neonatal death, we are here to listen.

Supported by a grant from the Community Health Foundation of Western and Central New York, The Central New York Fetal-Infant Mortality/Morbidity Review/Registry (FIMMRR) is a demonstration project combining aspects of traditional FIMR (Fetal Infant Mortality Review) programs.

Patient Navigation and Educational Services

Funded by the March of Dimes, The Center for Maternal and Child Health (CMATCH) of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Upstate Medical University has developed and has begun to implement a model for a case management/patient navigation and education service that operates in conjunction with the Syracuse Community Treatment Court (SCTC).
