Alumni Scholarships

The Upstate Medical University Health Professions Alumni Association sponsors more than 20 annual student scholarships to students of the College of Health Professions. Scholarships are awarded through the Admissions process and continue throughout the students' program of study provided a minimum academic standing is maintained. Additional merit awards are also available to students through nomination by their department faculty.

Cynthia Anne Novak Memorial Scholarship Endowment

Created in 1999 by Christopher and Ryan Novak in loving memory of their wife and mother, Cynthia, a 1986 graduate of the program in Cytotechnology. The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarship and other educational support to students in the Department of Cytotechnology at the SUNY Upstate Medical University College of Health Professions.

Jeanne Lange Memorial Endowment

Jeanne Lange
Created in 1999 by her family and friends, this scholarship provides funds for the academic needs of students of the Department of Cardiovascular Perfusion at the SUNY Upstate Medical University College of Health Professions.

Ken George Scholarship Fund

Created in 1998 by Ken George, a retired faculty member of the Department of Medical Radiography. The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships to students in the SUNY Upstate Medical University College of Health Professions.

Harriet Mark Endowed Scholarship

The Harriet Mark Endowed Scholarship became an endowed scholarship in 2003. It is awarded to a Medical Technology student in honor of former faculty member Harriet Mark.

Purpose

This scholarship is sponsored by the SUNY Upstate Medical University College of Health Professions Alumni Association to provide funds to promote the enrichment of faculty of the College of Health Professions. Requests for funds or reimbursement of expenses will be considered. Reimbursement of expenses must be for expenses incurred within six months of the date of application.

Eligibility

Persons eligible to receive this scholarship must meet the following baseline criteria:

  • You must be a faculty member of the College of Health Professions.
  • You must complete and submit the application and other documents requested on or before the stated deadline. Final selection will be made by a committee of alumni.
