Mission and Goals
The central mission of the Radiation Therapy Program is to educate competent
entry level radiation therapists.
The goals of the Radiation Therapy Program are to:
- provide an education that facilitates the mastery of basic entry level
professional skills through various didactic and clinical experiences;
- provide an orientation to the range of health care settings in which radiation
therapists practice;
- foster development of critical thinking, analysis and problem solving skills;
- increase awareness of the psychosocial, familial, and cultural differences
affecting patients and families, and the appropriate interaction skills necessary
to deal effectively with these differences;
- promote critical interpretation of applied professional research;
- promote a commitment to life-long learning.
