    Position Summary:

    The Syracuse VA Medical Center has been providing quality health care to our Nation’s Veterans for over 50 years.  The Physical Therapist position is located in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service on the 5th Floor of the Medical Center.  Work is performed in a team-oriented, interdisciplinary environment with emphasis on progressive and functional treatment.  The Department includes a 12-bed Rehabilitation Unit, newer outpatient facilities and equipment. A diverse caseload includes both inpatient and outpatient services. Recently, the Syracuse VA was designated as the only Polytrauma Rehab Program serving active duty soldiers in Upstate New York.
    Plans are in the development stages for a spinal cord injury center. 

    Job Requirements:

    Minimum Qualification Requirements:
    1.  A baccalaureate degree in physical therapy or an equivalent certificate in physical therapy from an accredited college or university and completion of a physical therapy clinical practice.
    2.  Current license to practice in a State.
    3.  Prefer one year of directly related experience that includes: interpretation of physicians’ prescriptions; application and interpretation of standard evaluation procedures and techniques; development and implementation of physical therapy treatment programs for patients; and working effectively with patients, their families, friends, and treatment team members.
