Prerequisites: Ultrasound

SUNY Upstate is an upper-division transfer college specializing in health care careers. Students applying to our bachelors programs take the prerequisite courses (minimum 56 semester hours) at another college and then complete their junior and senior years of the bachelors degree at Upstate for their program of study.

"Am I a Bachelor of Science (BS) or a Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) applicant?"

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) applicants enter with a liberal arts background. An associate's degree is not required, but welcome.
  • Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) applicants are ARRT certified or ARRT certification eligible in radiography and will have an associate's degree upon enrollment.

Bachelor of Science (BS)

For individuals with no previous education in Medical Imaging.

Requires a minimum of 56 semester hours including:

Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS)

For individuals who are ARRT certified or ARRT certification eligible.

Requires:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree
  • ARRT certification or certification-eligibility in radiography (X-ray)
  • Minimum of 56 semester hours is required for the BPS Ultrasound program
