The Post Professional Doctoral Program (T-DPT) is a program for licensed physical therapists. The program is designed for U.S. licensed physical therapists who are graduates of bachelor's and master's degree programs and who want to acquire knowledge that was not part of their original professional entry-level education.
This program is learner-centered, is approximately 1 year in length for MS graduates and 2 years for BS graduate. The number of credits can vary from 13-25+ dependent on the entry-level degree and a portfolio review. The portfolio review allows you to transfer from 1-25 credits towards your degree. Transfer credit is awarded for professional activities, continuing education and work experience, academic courses taken not resulting in a degree, and post-professional credentials such as Board certification, McKenzie and lymphedema and the CSCS.
The program combines on-site classroom interaction and on-line course work that minimizes the number of days away from work and travel to Syracuse. Students may chose on-site or on-line options for many courses. All students have full, on-line access to the SUNY Upstate Medical Library which is one of the best in the country.A Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree is awarded upon completion of the program. The next program begins June 8, 2012. This program has changed the professional practice of all of its graduates. Find out why SUNY Upstate Medical University T-DPT students and graduates are so enthusiastic about this program. It is a cut above the rest!
