MEDT 427 Clinical Chemistry I*

Involves performing qualitative and quantitative analysis of body fluids such as blood, urine and spinal fluid. These analyses are considered routine in nature and are exclusively automated type procedures. Quality control, which is an essential component of the clinical laboratory, is emphasized together with preventive maintenance and quality control for instrumentation. Students learn both operation and application of computer in a clinical laboratory.
Prerequisite: MEDT 361,362,357. Fall or spring semester
