The Medical Imaging Sciences Radiography Program is professionally accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). As such, the program maintains compliance with all JRCERT Standards for an Accredited Educational Program in Radiography including Standard 5.2 addressing program completion rate, radiography certification examination pass rate, and job placement rate.

PROGRAM COMPLETION RATE

The program completion rate is a measure of the number of students who completed all didactic and clinical requirements of the program relative to the number of students who had initially enrolled in the same class year.

AMERICAN REGISTRY OF RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGISTS (ARRT) RADIOGRAPHY CREDENTIALING EXAMINATION PASS RATE: 5 YEAR AVERAGE

Standard 5.2 of the JRCERT “Standards for an Accredited Educational Program in Radiography establishes a benchmark requiring that the five-year average radiography credentialing examination pass rate is not less than 75 percent at first attempt within six months of graduation. The Medical Imaging Sciences five-year average radiography credentialing examination pass rate is within full compliance.

JOB PLACEMENT RATE: 5 YEAR AVERAGE

Standard 5.2 of the JRCERT Standards for an Accredited Educational Program in Radiography establishes a benchmark requiring that the five-year average job placement rate is not less than 75 percent within twelve months of graduation.  The Medical Imaging Sciences Program considers any employment (full time, part time, or per diem) in the medical imaging profession within one year of graduation and is within full compliance.

Jay Fabbri
Jay Fabbri, MIS Class of 2012, is considered a non-traditional student at age 35. Fabbri, a Syracuse native, came to Upstate's Medical Imaging program in 2010 from Onondaga Community College. He enjoys the variety and fast pace of his clinical rotations in Upstate University Hospital, and is looking toward a career in interventional radiography.
