MEDT 522 Advanced Microbiology & ImmunologyThis course will cover current topics in the fields of microbiology and immunology. Each topic will be introduced initially by a lecture presentation, which will be followed by a discussion of current publications on the topic. This course will allow students to develop an appreciation of recent advances in the biology of the immune system and how these relate to defense against infectious disease. The course will also allow students to gain an understanding of the pathological mechanisms of microorganisms and how those mechanisms evolve.
