Respiratory Therapy Program Video

Through the expert use of life support and high technology devices, respiratory therapists assist patients who have acute and chronic heart and lung disorders. Therapists treat patients with cardiopulmonary diseases like heart failure, asthma, pneumonia, chest trauma and cystic fibrosis. They perform laboratory diagnostic tests, administer drugs, and educate the public about cardiopulmonary health. Therapists treat all age groups. The Department of Cardiorespiratory Sciences not only offers the bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy, but also offers a bachelor's degree in Cardiorespiratory Sciences, the focus of which is advanced Respiratory Therapy, teacher preparation and management.
