Core Curriculum
Educational programs conducted within your own clinical setting will be designed to include a comprehensive range of issues,
such as:
- Early identification and clinical management of HIV infection and disease
- Antiretroviral therapy, treatment adherence, and advances in diagnostic testing
- Diagnosis and management of opportunistic infections and HIV-related diseases
- Integrating HIV prevention and risk reduction into primary care, including partner notification
- Clinical management of pregnant women with
HIV infection and preventive therapy with antiretrovirals
- Gynecological and obstetrical care
- Pediatric care with an emphasis on family-centered care
- Management of patients with substance use histories, alcoholism, methadone maintenance and harm reduction
- Oral health care
- Early diagnosis, management and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases
- Mental health and psychosocial issues
- Alternative treatments and clinical trials
- Management and prophylaxis following HIV exposure
