HIV Learning Modules

Minda Hubbard, ANP from Albany Medical Center's Division of HIV Medicine has created a five part HIV learning module.
Module 1: HIV Pathogenesis provides basic knowledge of the HIV disease process and its overall effects on the body.
Module 2: Medications provides an overview of the classes, mechanisms of action, side effects and interactions of the drugs used to treat HIV disease.
Module 3: Adherence educates regarding the key role of the nurse in helping the HIV-infected patient adhere to his/her medication regimen and why that this is so critical in treating HIV disease.
Module 4: Hepatitis C/HIV Co-infection provides an overview of the emerging problem of Hepatitis C/HIV Co-infection.
Module 5: Health Maintenance equips the nurse to arrange the necessary care aand services to optimize the health of the HIV-infected patient.
