Slide 12, Loose connective tissue and skeletal muscle; Rat; H & E, Trypan Blue. A macrophage with less ingested trypan blue in the center has an oval nucleus. Find three elongated, very thin, dense nuclei that belong to fibrocytes (i.e. inactive fibroblasts). Notice that the collagen is irregularly arranged. Some is cut in cross section.
