About Us
Founded in 1978, the Consortium for Culture and Medicine, offers accredited courses in the cultural foundations of medical theory and practice, sponsors faculty seminars, and facilitates research in the medical humanities and social sciences. Faculty members from the three cooperating institutions represent academic disciplines such as anthropology, bioethics, economics, English, history, law, literature, medicine, philosophy, political science, psychology, social work, and sociology.
CCM is administererd by co-directors from each of the three schools in cooperation with a committee of College and University administrators from the participating institutions.
Members of the public who hold a bachelor's degree may register through any
of the three institutions and pay the appropriate course fees. For general information and information
about where to register, contact Lois Dorschel or one of the co-directors.
