Research Interests—Dr. Fiese's current research focuses on family factors that promote medical adherence and reduce mental health problems in children with asthma. Preliminary findings from projects funded by the National Institute of Mental Health and the Administration for Children and Families are being used to develop family friendly prevention programs that can be easily administered during a routine pediatric exam.
Dr. Fiese is also an appointed member of the American Psychological Association's Committee for Children, Youth, and Families and the Society for Research and Child Development's Committee for Policy and Communication. These national committees are dedicated to promoting science and public policy to better children's health and wellbeing.
