Research Interests—Nienke Dosa MD, MPH is assistant professor of pediatrics at the Center for Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics, SUNY Upstate Medical University. She is board certified in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. She is medical director of a regional spina bifida center that serves both children and adults.
Her research is focused on developing and studying information technology that improves transition to adulthood for adolescents with developmental disabilities. Dr. Dosa is director of the New York State Institute for Health Transition Training (www.HealthyTransitionsNY.org).
The Institute has developed a health transition curriculum to promote collaboration among youth with developmental disabilities, family caregivers, and health care providers during the transition process.
Dr. Dosa's research partners include the Center for Digital Literacy and the Burton Blatt Institute at Syracuse University, the New York State Department of Health, Parent to Parent of New York State, NYS Area Health Education Center (AHEC) system, and the Department of Family Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
