Amy T. Campbell

Amy T. Campbell, JD, MBE is an Assistant Professor of Bioethics and Humanities. She also holds an appointment at the Syracuse University College of Law (courtesy), and is Associate Faculty in the Bioethics Program of Union Graduate College-Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Ms. Campbell joined the Center in 2008. She received her law degree from Yale Law School and her Master's in Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Ms. Campbell teaches in several venues at SUNY Upstate. She directs Research Ethics: Responsible Conduct of Scientific Research I and II for basic science students and also directs the Health Care Ethics course for College of Nursing and College of Health Professions students. Additionally, as faculty member in the Consortium for Culture and Medicine, she regularly offers a course on child health policy. Her scholarly interests include how to develop health policy from a therapeutic and ethical perspective, how to inform bioethicists' role on a global policy stage, and how better to meet legal training needs in medical education (including via innovative interdisciplinary approaches). Particular populations of interest include child and adolescent health and mental health.

Ms. Campbell is active in the university, where she serves on the Research Conflict of Interest Committee and the Stem Cell Research Oversight Committee. She is also assisting in efforts to develop a program on social responsibility and medical activism. Beyond the university, she co-leads policy efforts of the Global Implementation Conference, is policy advisor to the National Implementation Research Network (NIRN), and also serves on the advocacy committee of the Society of Adolescent Health and Medicine, and on the steering committee of the Pediatric Ethics Affinity Group of the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities. She has also been a policy and ethics Consultant to the Institute of Medicine.
