Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Core Facility- Training

Users of the mass spectrometers must be facility-approved. A training class for new users of the TofSpec-2E (MALDI-TOF) is ordinarily scheduled every three to four months, as needed. The class, which is limited to a maximum of 5 students, and takes an entire day, involves both theoretical and practical instruction. Students are encouraged to bring their own samples to process during class. Class begins with a two-hour introductory lecture in room 4288 Weiskotten Hall Addition and then moves to the Proteomics lab (4297 WHA) a few doors down the hall. A training guide is provided to facilitate instruction (see below). To inquire about a training class contact Bob West at westr@upstate.edu or (315)464-8722.

Training Guide

The attached TofSpec-2E Training Guide is provided as a resource for local users. A copy of the guide is also available in the Proteomics lab. The training guide is updated periodically.
