Small Group Category: Inspiration through the Arts

Question: In what ways have I found Al-Anon spiritual principles work in my daily life?

Response:

- Making Choices and better boundaries


Question: Do I suspect that I have God-given talents that I could put to better use?

- I learned to take time to do the things I like - I joined a chorus and found a way to continue.

Question: In what ways has Al-Anon deepened my appreciation for creativity?

- Paying attention to myself, asking what makes me happy. Doing things I like to do. Looking at art as an exploration of self.


Question: When have I felt inspired by works of imagination?

- Al-Anon gives me permission to read to enjoy it, not to escape like I did before.
- I like volunteering for things in the Arts.
- I give of myself I know that I'm doing something important.
- I'm getting more healthy in my thinking.

Question: Has Al-Anon helped me to stop striving for perfection?

- I'm still trying.
- By wanting perfection, I'm paralyzed by fear.
- I'm also struggling with doing things I like.
- Awareness of taking care of me -making a list.

- Aware that other's aren't perfect either and that they may have the same feelings and thoughts as I do.
