HELPFUL AL-ANON SAYINGS AND IDEAS

The elevator is broken - take the steps!

Your life can get better whether the alcoholic stops drinking or not.

Take what you like and leave the rest.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

My best thinking is what got me here.

Stick with the Winners!

Pain is necessary, suffering is optional!

If nothing changes, nothing changes.

If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got.

Some things have to be believed to be seen.

The answers to all our difficulties can be found in the Steps.

Feelings aren't facts!!!

Let us love you until you learn to love yourself.

You're only as sick as your secrets.

Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less.

Don't compare you insides to other people's outsides.

If your spinning your wheels, try getting out of the driver's seat.

HALT: Don't get too Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired.

Fear = False Evidence Appearing Real

Courage is Fear that has said it's prayers.

Take an action, then let go of the results.

Expectations are preconceived resentments.

Serenity isn't freedom from the storm; it is peace within the storm.

Surrendering means you don't have to fight any more.

Surrender Dorothy!

Service Heals Too.

The Al-Anon Declaration:

I am responsible...
When anyone, anywhere,
reaches out for help, I want
the hand of Al-Anon and Alateen always to be there.
And let it begin with me.

Oh Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me today that you and I together can't handle..
