NEW YORK NORTH SPRING CONVENTION
The 2008 New York North Area Spring Convention
will be Hosted by District 1 (Buffalo Area), and will be held May 16,
17, and 18, 2008 at the Holiday Inn, 100 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island,
New York 14223 (716-773-1111 or 716-773-1129 Fax). The
theme will be "Planting the Seeds of Recovery" . There will be a Main
Al-Anon Speaker on Saturday and there will be also be workshops and panels
on Saturday for those not attending the Assembly Meeting.
Registration rate for Al-Anon's and AA's will be
$18.00, while Registration for Alateens will be $10.00 (Alateens also
will need a Notarized Parental Permission Slip and Medical Release Form).
The cost for the Saturday Night Banquet is $26.00. Registration forms
are available at your local Al-Anon or Alateen meeting. A printable version
of the Spring Convention Registration form is available online here (see
below). Registration Deadline for the 2008 NYN Spring
Convention is April 1, 2008.
Alateens must have adult supervision (and signed
and notarized Permission Slips and Medical Release Forms). See your local
Alateen Sponsor for these forms.
Room reservations for the weekend (per night) are
$89.00 per night (+ tax) for up to four in a room. To reserve a room at
the hotel, call 716-773-1111 or fill out the room reservation
portion of the Registration Form. Reservation cutoff
date for the hotel is April 1, 2008. AFTER THAT DATE, ROOMS WILL BE $129.95
PER NIGHT (+ tax). There is an indoor swimming pool available.
Check in time is 3:00 pm and checkout time is 12 Noon

ATTENDING AREA Al-Anon, Alateen, or AA EVENTS
Please make check or money order payable to: NYN
2008 Spring Convention.
Registrants will be on their own for their meals
for Friday. On Saturday, the Convention is offering a Breakfast ($12.00),
and Banquet ($23.00) with a choice of entrees (Choice of one: London Broil,
Homestyle Stuffed Chicken Breast, or Vegetarian). Lunch will be on your
own. On Sunday morning, the Convention is offering a Breakfast Buffet
($12.00). Due to the location of the hotel, there are no other resources
for eating out on Grand Island within walking distance from the Hotel.
There are several however within a short driving distance.
The Committee asks all GR's to ask their groups
to donate a Theme Basket for the Raffle table, or donate another item
such as Al-Anon Literature, etc. Hospitality Room food items are gratefully
accepted and appreciated from any group or individual..
