Mission

The Advocates is a membership organization of volunteers whose mission is to serve Upstate Medical University and its campuses. We do that primarily in two ways:

  • Direct service projects to improve and enhance patient care
  • Fund raising to provide funds in support of patient care enhancement and education

The Advocates for Upstate Medical University now includes the former Community General Auxiliary and is a 501 (c)(3) fundraising and service organization. Our mission is to improve patient care, support medical education, and enhance community health. We volunteer, provide service, and fundraise to enhance public health initiatives within Upstate Medical University, its campuses and the surrounding communities.

Our co-chairs Marty Cuddy, Vince Lawrence and the golf committee, did it again! It was a picture perfect day and another successful golf tournament!

This year's proceeds are earmarked for the Upstate Womens Health Network (WHN), an exciting new program that will provide a comprehensive approach to healthcare, geared specifically for women. The WHN will include Upstate's Patient's First! Healthcare focus, providing convenience for our patients at our Downtown Campus, and-coming soon-newly available services on our Community Campus.
