The Syracuse Region is rich in entrepreneurial spirit, with $5.4 billion in new investment and economic development projects underway.

The (CNYBAC) Central New York Biotech Accelerator is an Upstate Medical University owned and managed facility, it is located on East Fayette Street in Syracuse, a few blocks from Upstate Medical University's largest research facility, the (IHP) The Institute for Human Performance and the (NRB) Neuroscience Research Building. It is two blocks from Syracuse University's, Centers of Excellence Building. Just down the hill from SUNY-ESF, the Syracuse Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Centerstate CEO's Tech Garden Incubator site are also within walking distance.

The area is also rich in intellectual capital, with 35 colleges and universities in the city and surrounding counties, including 25,000 students enrolled at the institutions within five blocks of the CNY Biotech Accelerator. The CNY Biotech Accelerator is conveniently close to the campuses of its major partners and two minutes from downtown Syracuse.
