Executive Team
The Upstate Medical University Executive Team serves as the cabinet to the President and provides a high-level cross-functional view of every aspect of the institution. The Executive Team meets weekly and provides direction related to Upstate's mission, vision, strategic plan and presidential initiatives. The Executive Team also makes operational decisions, sets policy and guides capital allocations for the University.

Dr. Smith oversees the entire University, including four colleges, a biomedical research enterprise, and a clinical system comprising Upstate University Hospital, Upstate University Hospital at Community General, Golisano Children’s Hospital, and a network of clinical sites. His vision for the University has resulted in a series of initiatives for growth and a strategic plan. Upstate is the region's largest employer with more than 9,000 employees.
Senior Vice President for Administration and Finance
Mr. Brady oversees the coordination of overall finances of the University as well as the facilities and capital program, Internal Audit, Internal Control Information Technology, Accounting and Budget, Physical Plant and Public Safety.
Mr. Brady also is the Operations Manager for the Research Foundation and the Executive Director of MedBest.

Dr McCabe oversees the entire operation of Upstate University Hospital sites and has ultimate administrative responsibility for the Hospital and its ambulatory sites. Hospital COO, CAO CNO, CFO, Medical Director & Chief Quality Officer, the Senior Associate for Community Programing and Development and the Institutional Compliance Officer report directly to him.
Senior Vice President for Operations
Dr. Thompson provides leadership and direction in the development of institutional planning. Her responsibilities include oversight of a variety of integrative operations, including: human resources; library services; public, community and governmental relations and marketing communications. She also works closely with agencies in Albany and Washington representing Upstate on Medicare and Medicaid issues and on public health policy.

Assoc. Vice President & Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs
Dr. Duggan oversees clinical services at University Hospital. He also serves as liaison to other health care organizations in the region. As interim dean, he is responsible for educational, research, and clinical programs of the College of Medicine and management of its financial resources and space.

Chair, UMAS Governing Board
Dr. Bogart is the Chairman of the SUNY Upstate Medical Department of Radiation Oncology and program director for the radiation oncology residency program. He is also responsible for the management of University Hill Radiation Oncology, a practice with multiple sites that is affiliated with Upstate Medical University.
Leadership Council
Leadership Council represents the scope of the entire university, with an especial focus on Upstate's academic mission. The group is charged with the practical implementation of Upstate's strategic plan and interacts with the University Council as ex-officio members. The group meets weekly to provide updates, discuss resources and examine challenges. Members of Leadership Council serve the main communicators of University business, goals and objectives to internal departments.

Oversees the administration of the Research Enterprise, including facilities, sponsored programs, industry relations, clinical research and the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Strengthening Research. Also oversees the College of Graduate Studies, which educates PhD, Master, and MD/PhD students.
Dean, College of Health Professions
Professor
Dr. Bonner oversees the College of Health Professions and has academic and administrative responsibility for the college and its eight distinct academic programs. Department Chairs for each of the programs and the College's Chief of Staff report to the Dean.
Dean, College of Nursing
Dr. Szigeti oversees the operation of the College of Nursing and has ultimate administrative responsibility for the College and its programs, which include bachelor's completion, master's , post-master's and RNFA programs. She is integrally involved with the direction of the College and planning for the future nursing needs of Central New York.
Dean, Binghamton Clinical Campus
Dr. Davé is responsible for the clinical teaching experience of 3rd and 4th year medical students assigned to Binghamton Campus. He recruits and oversees multiple specialists with full-time, part-time and voluntary faculty status. He is also the Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of UHS – Binghamton Based Health Care System.
Vice President for Academic Affairs
Senior Associate Dean for Education
Reports to the president and works collaboratively with the Deans on program development and academic infrastructure. Serves as the academic liaison between Upstate and SUNY Central Administration. Assists in the oversight of the Division of Student Affairs, the College of Medicine curriculum, Graduate Medical Education and Continuing Education, as well as the educational infrastructure in the College of Medicine.
Vice President for Development
Ms. Pezzi oversees the activities of the Foundation for Upstate, including the Alumni Association for the Colleges of Nursing and Health Professions. She is responsible for organizing and implementing multi-year, million dollar capital, annual and endowment campaigns, planned giving, corporate and foundation gift giving, fund management and special events.
Assistant Vice President for Strategic Planning and Management
Ms. Stehle is responsible for planning and management of the Upstate strategic plan. She is a liaison to the Chancellor's Office for the SUNY strategic plan and is integral member of the planning and implementation team for its "Healthier New York" section. Ms. Stehle also plans, implements and manages the President's Engaging Excellence initiatives across the university.
Chief Information Officer
Ms. Wagner is responsible for planning, implementation and management of information management technology throughout the university in support of the missions of patient care, education and research. She also oversees health information management and clinical engineering for the hospital.
Dean, Student Affairs
Dr. White provides leadership to the dozen functions that make up the Division of Student Affairs. The offices in the Division collaborate to provide service and support to assist students in realizing their potential. Students First! is the guiding philosophy of Dr. White's work.
Senior Counsel, Counsel’s Office
Ms. McGraw, along with the regional legal team in the SUNY Office of General Counsel, is responsible for the provision of all legal services to the entire Upstate Medical University.

In her role as CAO, Ms. Price has administrative responsibility for the Community General campus, which includes clinical, operational, and financial oversight.
University Health System Leadership
UpstateUniversity Hospital has two campuses—downtown Syracuse and four miles west at Community General. Hospital leadership oversees all aspects related to patient care at Upstate's hospitals and more than 80 specialty clinics. Upstate University Hospital's 17-county service area covers approximately one-third of New York State.

Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Seale is responsible for the daily operations of the clinical ancillary and support departments in the hospital. He is integrally involved with the quality and safety initiatives throughout the hospital.

Ms. Mooney provides executive leadership in the Department of Nursing to promote excellence in nursing practice, professional education/staff development, and research activities. She sets standards and expectations for collaboration and teamwork by promoting an atmosphere of trust and respect.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Wright is responsible for all financial functions of the hospital including accounting, purchasing, cash management, budgeting, billing and revenue cycle, and managed care contracting. Additionally, he is responsible for patient access areas and central distribution.
